Powering Through The Pandemic
I cannot believe it’s almost been two years since we first started to stay home due to COVID-19. For the first year, the boyfriend and I really just stayed home and tried to survive. We got kind of fearful of the outside world and at one point, we even stopped leaving the house to buy groceries. We were super lucky to both have careers that allowed us to fully work from home. This year was a little different though—but for good reasons.

It wasn’t until one year when I decided to go there myself that I had to Google it up, and learn the tragic but wholesome reasoning behind the well-lit neighbourhood of Trinity Street.

The boyfriend are I are back in Vancouver, working remotely. Most of the people at our office are working from home, meaning if we shifted our hours in Vancouver to match up with our Montreal work hours, there isn’t much of a difference anyway. So it’ll be nice to spend a bit of time with family before going back after the holidays!

Finally went to Haidilao after only ever having bought their hot pot soup bases to have at home. We were a little hesitant as it’s Covid times, but reading the reviews, a lot of people spoke favourably of the protocols there.
To be frank though I don’t even want to talk about my experience. I want to talk about what Haidilao stands for in China.
