I finally visited On Yogurt!
I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while since hearing about it almost a year ago. I know I’m not the only one who gets a little mesmerized watching food videos. I especially enjoy watching street food artists— and by artists, I don’t just mean people who aim to make artsy-looking stuff. They’re artists because they’ve perfected their process of making the street food.
On Yogurt also makes fried ice cream and it’s in Vancouver!
A huge experience in ice fried yogurt is watching it being made. On Yogurt has clear glass tabletops so that you can see the whole process! I filmed mine!
The taste is creamier than regular ice cream I’d say. And despite it looking not vary large, it’s quite a bit since it’s heavier. My boyfriend had the earl grey fried ice cream, and I had the matcha with red bean. We both thought the earl grey was the best, though matcha wasn’t bad.
On Yogurt itself is a very cute place. There’s a small selection of board games for you to pass the time, and the decor feels quite personalized. I think the shop’s mascot may be the owners’ dog?! Either way, super cute! The washroom also has chalkboard walls with chalks on the side for you to write whatever you wish.
If you’re ever by Yaletown on a hot summer’s day, go check them out. Such a cute idea and shop!
